Don’t Give Up

Listening to old
Cassette tapes
Tonight of when
I was so young.
Scrubbing out
2 chords on a cheap
Guitar and singing
Some incredibly
Hackneyed, lovelorn
Lyrics. Yet I thought
I was some kind of
Undiscovered genius.
The same as I do now
Writing poetry that
No one wants to read.
We have to have our
Dreams, don’t we?
Or else we’d just
Give up, and what’s
The point of that?
We only get one
Go at this life (As
Far as I know )
And if you can’t
At least TRY to
Follow your dreams
Then you might as
Well just give up

Since then he has had over 170 pieces published in over 20 e-zines.
His debut book, a collection of poetry entitled Detritus Of The Drunken Night was published by Cajun Mutt Press in April 2019.
