At ease, I sit in my room
waiting for the break of day.
No heaven awaits me.
No hell either.
I am satisfied with one room,
one life, one cat, one naked body,
a tale continually unfolding
I breathe in. I breathe out.
I am alive. The dead hear no prayers.
Nor do I need any.
Words become me as the sun fills the horizon.
