at Horny Toad Cafe
company logo plastered
to sweaty singlet, queues
for take-away coffee at Horny Toad.
Mr. Skin-head-tough-nut tries
to ignore the Gloria Gaynor disco
classic but can’t quite contain himself
as whole body goes into groove revolt,
making cute, involuntary mini-moves,
so badly he aches to boogie.
Catching my eye he goes shy,
pretends there’s simply an itch
down there, in need of a manly scratch.
He is strong; he will survive.
