this digital wasteland

a little crown and coke at two in the morning

yet another broken generation lost in the darkness

broken dreams, broken lives

hope left to die on a lonesome highway

it’s a used needle in a children’s park

a stolen gun thrown into a crystal-clear river

a newborn left in an abandoned car to die
or be found by better souls

there are no regrets here

no one has the time or money for such things

you live, you die

you piss away all the second chances possible

if you’re lucky, you make it to the next
county will all your limbs

for those of us stuck, left behind or just too
fucking lazy to leave

the sun will rise again

we’ll get drunk under the stars

rinse and repeat

follow the stench until your third eye
starts to smile
