a little slice of dystopia
eating ice cream in the dark
wondering if masturbation
is ever considered exercise
the woman of my dreams
most likely died many
moons ago
but it doesn’t really matter
in these quiet moments alone
you learn over time life is simply
a countdown for death
some get to have a little fun
along the way
others get nothing but tragedy
any of us could be a roll of
the dice or a lucky penny
scratching off a dream or
a fucking nightmare
as for myself,
i never was one for
the games of chance
i accept this ride will be
over long before i ever
needed it to be
i have my drinks
a little slice of dystopia
plenty of pens and paper
a trusty towel
the shotgun in the corner
and just enough of a flicker
of a flame to keep going
