a perceived shift

as the world
began to recede
he noticed the
flicker fusion
threshold
& became
aware of the
blank spaces
of incandescent
light between
the frames of red,
arid desert
canyons
& sandstone cliffs
& the massive
burning sky
that was
ready to be
opened
